The Junk - Similan Islands & South Thailand Liveaboard.

Thailand liveaboard diving boat, June Hong Chian Lee is better known as The Junk.

She was constructed at Penang Island in Malaysia, to work as a “tramp ship” for the charcoal industry in 1962. She worked on the Burma-Malaysia coastal run until around 1985 when she had a complete refit to become a classic sailing yacht.

In 1997 she was acquired by her present owners and completely refitted and restored to start a new life as a Thailand liveaboard dive boat working from Phuket.

Liveaboard June Hong Chian Lee (Respect Wind Travel Forever) is now one of the most sought after dive boats in Thailand, due to her ancestry, classic Junk lines & character, high quality of service and masses of charm.

The Junk liveaboard has the largest deck of any dive boat to Thailand's Similan islands and southern dive sites, this makes gearing up a pleasure and allows her divers to find a quiet shady spot to read a book or just relax and soak up the ambient atmosphere.
