General Info

The currents can run fast here but the pinnacles run in a North - South direction with the currents, making for good drift diving, depending on the time of day you visit.
Depths: 0/28m. Visibility: 10/20m. But can be better. Current: Easy to strong. Level 1: Good for all.

Phuket Day Boat Diving Site Reviews - Shark Point.

Series of limestone pinnacles situated around 90 minutes from Phuket.

Designated by the Thai authorities as a Marine Sanctuary in 1992 and therefore protected against souvenir taking and fishing of any form. This has left the site in great condition with massive amounts of sea life to be seen.

Reef fish of many varieties can be found here, with big shoals of chevron barracuda, jacks and travelly, along with lots of soft corals and giant sea fans of many colours, making this site one of the best in the area.

The Thai name for the main pinnacle is Hin Musang meaning leopard shark rock, so hopefully you will see one, as well as a turtle or two.

Shark Point is a Pinnacle dive with everything on a big scale including giant Gorgonian Sea Fans in many colours and it’s the best dive site around Phuket for spotting Leopard Sharks.
