General Info

Big walls, swim-throughs, overhangs and drop-offs abound in the barren seascape, and the continuous currents give sharks the conditions they need and it's not unusual to see white tips skimming past and black tips resting at depth in large numbers.
Lots of opportunity to see massed ranks of barracuda, trevelly and snapper, along with runners, octopus, fusiliers, shrimps and sometimes an elusive manta ray or whale shark passing through.

Similans Islands Liveaboard Dive Sites - Elephant Head Rock.

Elephant Head Rock is a large pinnacle near island 8 in the Similan Island national park.

The site takes its name because one of three large underwater boulders emerges above the surface and is said to resemble an elephant’s head.

The boulders offer the Similan islands liveaboard diver a cathederal like experience at anytime of day, but the dive is best done in the morning as the suns rays hitting the waters surface scatter causing a very eerie and beautiful monochrome effect that is perfect for the setting and something you will remember for a long time.
