South Tip
Currents can be strong here, taking you into very deep water so this site should be dived only by experienced divers. Plenty to see of the more common reef fish and the best chance in the Phuket area to see whale sharks and manta rays. Lots of boulders and rocks to be seen along with soft corals and has been compared to some sites around the Similan islands.
Depth: 18/40m. Visibility: 10/30m. Current: Quick to Hard. Level 3: Advanced diver.
South Tip Pinnacle
An interesting boulder dive with hard and soft corals, all the common reef fish, big schools of fusiliers and chevron barracuda.
Depth: 18/40m. Visibility: 10/30m. Current: Quick to Hard. Level 3: Advanced diver.
North Tip
This site is for the experienced dive only and as such is not dived frequently. That said, it is a fine dive and well worth a visit if you can persuade your tour leader to do it.
Boasting black tip reef sharks, bullet head parrot fish, pinnacles, boulders, hard and soft corals.
Depth: 17/30m. Visibility: 10/20m. Current: Can be hard/unpredictable. Level 3: Advanced diver.
Banana Bay
Great dive for all with lots of schooling fish, snakes, turtles and moray eels. Stag horn and elk horn coral to be seen. Moving on to a granite wall.
Depth: 5/30m. Visibility: 10/20m. Current: Easy to not so easy. Level 1: Good for all.
Marita’s Bay
‘Fair to midlin’ dive site with hard and soft corals and fish aplenty.
Depth: 5/20. Visibility: 10/20m. Current: Easy to not so easy. Level 1: Good for all.
Marita’s Rock
Best of the accessible sites of Racha Noi. Very reminiscent of the Similan islands with giant boulders to one side and deep blue to the other. Suitable for all, but the depths may put off some beginners of a nervous nature. Lots to lookout for including; Cuttle fish, big moray eels, schools of barracuda, lion fish and all the more common reef and rock dwellers. Swim through's and Bommies make this site a great day for all. Don't forget to look in the blue for a glance of some bigger fish like whale shark, manta or the harder to spot ocean going sharks.
Depth: 5/40m.+ Visibility: 10/20m.+ Current: Easy to fast. Level 2: Experienced divers/supervision for beginners.
Phuket Day Boat Diving Site Reviews - Racha Noi.
Racha Noi always seems to be the poor relation to her sister island Racha Yai, which
is a shame, as this twin peaked island has the same beauty above the surface and
below. With this poor relation syndrome comes a bonus for the diver in the fact that
not many dive boats come here and the diving is to a large extent done in small groups
with no sign of many other divers. This allows you to feel you are on a mostly undiscovered
site.
Racha Noi has a lot to offer the every class of diver from Tech diver to beginner,
with the deeper boulder dives and quick currents of the pinnacle and the north and
south tips for experienced divers.
Racha Noi is only two hours from Phuket Island has lots of scuba diving sites to chose and most dive sites are open to all levels of diver.
