Special features of these southern Thailand diving waters include the elusive Dugong (adopted from the Malay Duyung, meaning "lady of the sea”,) a sea grass eating giant that is related to the Manatee and the chance, (albeit a small one) of diving with Dolphins and sighting Sperm and Minke whales.
*Although there is some damage to the reefs in parts of the park, this is caused by dynamite fishing, crown of thorns starfish and storms and not thought to be from any ecological reason such as so called global warming.
Generally for all dive sites.
Depth: 5/40m. Visibility: 5/20m. Currents: Moderate to very strong. Level 1/2/3: Beginners with supervision, experienced and advanced divers.

South Thailand Liveaboard Dive Sites - Tarutao Marine Park.

Consisting of 51 islands the Tarutao national park is located in the south Andaman Sea, close off offshore from Thailand's southern most province of Satun.

The main diving areas are Koh Tarutao, Koh Adang, Koh Lipe and Koh Rawi. They give the diver to this unspoilt Thailand dive destination, large reefs,* a variety & abundance of marine life and few divers in the water to take away that feeling of discovery.

With an estimated 25% of the worlds fish species living in these warm waters there should be no problems with finding what your looking for, whether it's sharks, rays, big grouper, or just masses of smaller reef fishes.
