Hin Muang (Purple rock) derives it’s name from the carpet of sea anemones that sway in the currents surrounding this great dive site. As with Hin Daeng there is so much to see in the way of marine life that the diver can sometimes be a little over awed at the spectacle and forget all about checking gauges and depths, so extra care must be taken here if you want to see it all, and live to tell the wonderful tale.
On that note there are few other problems and the chances to see manta and whale shark are worth the added precautions, of checking gauges more often. So just relax and enjoy the opportunities that these two fantastic dive sites offer.
Depths: 10/70+m. Average depth is around 20/25m making these sites open only to advanced, confident divers. Visibility: 15/40m. Currents: Strong to moderate. Level 2/3:  Experienced/ Advanced divers.

Hin Daeng (Red rock) get it’s name from to the masses of red corals that cover this series of walls and shelves.

These corals offer the array local of small colourful reef fish protection against the marauding pelagics, like tuna and barracuda, which are here in big numbers to feed on the smaller fish.

Other sighting here include a variety of moray eels, lobster, turtles, crabs, pipe fish and there is always the chance to spot the elusive manta rays & whale shark. Hin Daeng is also noted for being one of  the last chances to see the grey reef shark in Thai waters.
